Fishing, New Chicks, and a swell thrift store find.. 4-5-2015

Noah and I recently bought a new fishing pole at the China Mart. We were sent to run some errands while Stacey did our taxes ;( and so we rewarded ourselves with a little fishing. We went to a popular boat landing/park in the area called Fort Hamer. This is where the row teams go out and practice on the Manatee River. We didn't catch anything (of course) but we had a nice time nonetheless.

This afternoon we spent some time watching the new chicks (all 13 of them) peck around in the dirt and grass. It's amazing that just four or five days ago, some of these little fluff balls were still in their eggs. We had two new chicks hatch early this morning or maybe last night. We separated them from the hen and added them to the chick flock. It seems like we've been having a lower chicly mortality rate since moving them into a box with a heat lamp. Eli is in heaven!

...and I found a Mr. Coffee coffee maker at the Parrish UMC thrift store for $2. Not bad.
